Diagnosis
Your doctor will start with an exam and discussion of your symptoms and family history.
Your doctor may refer you for one or more tests such as a stress test, echocardiogram, or cardiac catheterization for example.
Treatment
Treatment will depend on what type of heart disease you have. It may include medication, cardiac rehabilitation, bypass surgery, valve replacement, or pacemaker placement.
Managing Your Condition
One of the most important parts of your treatment plan is how you take care of yourself. Low-fat, low-sodium diet, exercise, and not smoking are critical.
